KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The Pilgrims Management and Fund Board (TH) said Thursday it had not received any official instruction from the Saudi Arabian government on a reported prohibition on elderly people, children below 12 and people with chronic illnesses performing the pilgrimage this year due to the Influenza A(H1N1) global pandemic.

The Saudis concern is understandable but the question is how will the people especially the elderly will take this news. Then if the Saudis do really decide to enforce this prohibition, then one can only imagine their disappointment and sadness. If there is one thing I will try hard never to do is to disappoint any elderly person. (Unless of course that particular person is insane or the request made is unacceptable.)
