Happy Merdeka.

Happy Merdeka Day everyone.

Somehow this year's celebrative mood is somewhat sombre except for the public holiday today to remind us that our beloved nation is in its 52nd year after having obtained its independence.

We celebrate our Merdeka Day today without the usual pom what with the nation facing the H1N1 pandemic while on the political front (Peninsular mostly), more depressing events are taking place on an alarming rate. I saw less of the Jalur Gemilang being flown for the whole of the Bulan Kemerdekaan unlike the previous year.

Does this mean that we have become less patriotic or we are all are just feeling the fatigue of the endless politicizing by both the BN and Opposition leaders. Almost everything being politicized now. Even a poor cow head could be used as a tool.

Makes me wonder really what is going on with this beloved country of ours.

He said that the test would be enforced a week before and a week after the Aidilfitri to ensure drivers were not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Ah.. this one I sokong tak berbelah-bagi. Tapi jangan sekadar lepas batuk di tangga ... akhirnya lagi berita-berita sedih di bulan Puasa nanti.

Yang menghairankan ni kenapa di bulan Ramadan sahaja. Kenapa tidak berterusan?

Ramadan (2).

A friend asked me once what did I, a mualaf, like most about the fasting month.

I had always tried my best to be a good Muslim and by observing the fasting month of Ramadan is one of them.

I did not realize when but now I always look forward to the coming of the Ramadan especially the Terawih prayers. Strangely, I find as the Ramadan is nearing to its end, a great feeling of sadness fell upon me that those beautiful moments when we performed the Terawih is about to end too.

Another year is a long wait ....

I guess that's the part of Ramadan I liked best.

Ramadan.

After making much persistent phone calls, I finally had the Internet connection to my office restored.

Though I got so much to write about, I guess it will be more appropriate to start by wishing to all Muslims wherever they are a peaceful Ramadan month and that they will be able to perform their fasting in peace.

My prayers goes to the brothers and sisters in troubled countries such as Iraq, Ethiopia and Sudan to name a few, may this holy month will bring much needed peace to you all.

Illegals Is A SecurityThreat.

(Daily Express) Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Government regards illegal immigrants as a security threat to the nation and the waters off Sabah as one of the major entry points of illegal immigrants to Malaysia.

"An estimated 100,000 to 150,000 illegal immigrants from Indonesia and the Philippines are in Sabah," said State Secretary Datuk Sukarti Wakiman, in his keynote address at a seminar on "Maritime Security in Sabah Waters and Beyond", Tuesday.

They acknowledged their presence in the State as a security threat. So what are they going to do about it other than the endless speech, studies, promises and the likes?

H1N1 Precaution.

Sent another two workers to the Government Clinic at Kundasang yesterday (Friday). The usual complaints about fever, sore throat and flu. The first two was sent for check up last Wednesday and after checking their blood samples were cleared of the H1N1 influenza. Hopefully this latest duo will also be cleared or otherwise I won't be able to go home this weekend.
