Datuk Salleh : Coal Among Best Solution.

According to Datuk Salleh, the Science Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sabah - coal powered plants provides among the best solution to solve the power shortages faced by people of Sabah especially so in the East Coast region. Please read about it  here.

Below is the copy of the article I've posted back in 18th December 2008, about the proposed coal powered plant to be set up in the East coast of Sabah. This would give readers some idea about my feeling  and opinion regarding the whole issue.

It may seem now that  "green power" is no longer the issue here but rather to source for the best and most economical  alternative there is. Thus, we may very well see the option to go ahead with the Coal Powered Plant after all.

"Green" May Not Necessarily Be Clean.

Stumbled upon this website which tells you something about the consequences of utilizing coal powered plants.

Not too long ago, there was a big issue about the proposed coal powered plant to be set up in Lahad Datu which subsequently, was rejected by the State Government. Alternately, SESB then proposed another new location in Sandakan. They may have their reasons to opt for such method. One may be due to economical reason and also logistic limitations.

However, after going trough that article and also this piece, then all that green energy hype thing that they have been harping about, could all be just plain bull.

Some Semporna Photos.

It's been years since I've last seen a lantern or float procession and never expected that I would see one here in Semporna. Well there it was ,held in conjunction with the just concluded Regatta Lepa-Lepa. Did not take any other photos as I just could not stand large crowds. Must be getting old.

This is so unfortunate. I wonder they (the religious and police officers) can sleep soundly every night after this.

Muslims Arrested For Buying 4D.

KUANTAN: A total of 94 Muslims were arrested for buying nombor ekor (4D numbers) last year, the state assembly was told.

State Islamic Dakwah, Unity and Non-Governmental Organisation Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Sahfri Ab Aziz told Syed Hamid Syed Mohamed (PAS–Semantan) that 41 were caught for the same offence in the first two months of this year.

I believe this is a vice that is  happening  all over the Country and not Pahang alone.  While this is in no way to demean my own place, but I also believe that a day "catch" in Semporna town alone over this type of vice will surpassed the two months "catch" attained as stated in the report any time. Something for the Government to solve with a more long-term effectiveness in mind.

Free Malaysia Today : Sabah NRD slammed over religious status of MyKad applicants

KOTA KINABALU: The State National Registration Department (NRD) has been taken to task for being ignorant and insensible to the unique features of Sabahans and their religious status.

“The NRD must not simply assume that a person is a Muslim when he or she has a ‘bin’ or ‘binti’ in their names, which is quite a common feature among the natives in the state,” Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairperson, Christina Liew, said today.

Well, I really am lost for words. After 46 years and the ignorance remain. They simply refuse to learn and understand us. My support goes to Christina for bringing this matter up.

Even if that department or for any department at all,  is  being headed by someone from the Peninsula, at least make it an effort to learn or go for a crash course somewhere to gain ample knowledge  on the  unique Sabah way of life.

This would  eventually avoid the unnecessary and embarrassing glitches that would or may well already had put black marks on the  1Malaysia concept our PM trying really hard to impress upon us.

PM : Wealth And Qualifications Will Not Guarantee Popularity.

PUTRAJAYA, April 1 (Bernama)  Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has reminded Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen that wealth and qualifications will not guarantee that they will remain popular among voters.

On the contrary, the prime minister said the support of the voters to elected representatives would remain strong if they continue to provide good deeds and services to the people.

Alas, not all of our MPs, both BN  nor the Oppositions, share the PM's view.

Chocolate is good you.

By Maria Cheng, The Associated Press

No problem there as I am a chocolate freak. Been taking them on regular basis although the costs would surely burn holes in your pockets.
