Power outage due to gas supply interruption – SESB

KOTA KINABALU: The major blackout experienced by consumers in most parts of Sabah on the night of Feb 18 that started at 8.30pm was due to a shutdown valve problem at the Petronas Sabah Gas Terminal.

SESB corporate service division general manager Wan Maria Othman Lee said the unfortunate incident had caused an interruption of gas supply to their Independent Power Plants namely, Teluk Salut, SBPC and Rugading leading to the loss of generating capacity of 200MW.

I was at the King Fisher area waiting for my kids when the  power outage happened.

Identity Thieves Steal More Than Money

Identity theft can cost victims thousands of dollars as well as dozens of hours spent resolving problems as a result of it. But the consequences of having one’s personal information stolen are actually much broader.

Identity theft and identity fraud are terms used to refer to types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another individual's personal data in a way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain.

Minor Win For Heritage Buffs.

KOTA KINABALU: Heritage lovers here have won a small battle in their fight to block the construction of a high-rise commercial building that would dwarf the Atkinson Clock Tower.

A brave lady. Hope all concerned Sabahans will back her.

My Own Little Bit About The New Sultan.

I remembered back in the early 90’s and it was in KK, I used to see a smart looking guy, with a smart looking mustache and smartly dressed too, who normally walks around with a pair of dark glasses on.

He always had a” tai-ko-tai” on one hand and a small black bag carried under the armpit on the other, and  drove around in a Nissan Cefiro car.

Tragic Lessons

Two women who fell to their deaths in separate incidents in Malacca and Selangor had voiced their intention to end their lives, but no one took them seriously.

A tragic waste. By then it's already way too late for "if only" ...

Tempat Kegemaran.

New mayor Abidin a slap for the Chinese

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Musa Aman, ignoring vociferous calls for a Chinese mayor for the Kota Kinabalu City Hall, has appointed former local government and housing permanent secretary Abidin Madingkir to the post.

Hmm. A slap in the face you say? I don't think so. I don't feel any pain at all. Actually I don't give a hoot either whosoever the government chose to be the Mayor of our City.
